Decoding Instappy with Ambika Sharma

The penetration of smartphones in India is growing at a rapid pace and according to various media research reports, India consists of second largest user base of smartphones. In past few years, the app economy has witnessed a key transformation in the delivery of digital services and frequent innovations.
With the fastest growing smartphone and internet users, India is all set to become one of the primary app development markets.  National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) has already initiated a startup program to launch around 10, 000 startups within the country to accelerate the mobile app ecosystem.
Speaking about the development in app ecosystem, Ambika Sharma, Founder & MD, Instappy said, “India has moved swiftly towards digital and businesses are now looking at mobile to get incremental as well as sustained relationships with their customers, apps as compared to the web provide stronger incremental purchase from customers, higher engagement and lower cost per sale in the long run.  A RMAD platform bridges the demand and supply gap and bring down the barriers of technology expertise, non-standardization of app quality, cost and go to market time effectively, making it possible for businesses to get their own app without compromising on the quality.”
The scope for mobile application development platforms is huge, as the number of mobile internet users in India is expected to reach 371 million by June 2016. According to IAMAI, there were 306 million mobile internet users in India in December, 2015. Of the 306 million internet users, 219 million users are from Urban India, which registered a Y-o-Y growth of 71 per cent, while the user-base in Rural India has gone up by 93 per cent from December 2014, to reach 87 million in December 2015.
Introduction
Instappy is a cloud-based Mobile app creation platform that allows users to build intuitive, stunning and fully native applications for iOS and Android instantly.
“We sensed an opportunity to transform the way businesses approached mobile and their business and commerce applications. We needed to empower businesses and individuals by making the entire process of app development easy and seamless. Today Instappy allows easy customization, reduced go to market time, always updated tech for high quality apps that include custom API’s and advanced features, at a fraction of the cost,” expressed Sharma.
Instappy is a bootstrapped venture and it has a team of 35 across sales, development and marketing. The venture supports App creation in Spanish, Portuguese, German and French as well as English and all Indian Languages.
“We are hoping that we will not only optimism current markets but with 5 new languages being launched next quarter will be able to expand to new markets as well, added Sharma.

Revenue model @Instappy
Instappy caters to mid and small segment enterprise businesses and professionals who are now looking to expand their customer base and increase engagement as well as revenue from their customer base which is mobile 1st.
It is a cloud based SAAS platform, it has the assisted as well as the DIY model and Apps are on an annual subscription.
The venture has also introduced a reseller program, allowing web development companies and agencies to introduce app development in their business service offering not only adding a new revenue stream but also them to create value for their clients.
However, Sharma informed that the area which takes the most effort is mentoring the customer. Sharing her thoughts about the challenges, Sharma further mentioned that providing assistance and helping businesses on how to get the best out of their investment while maintaining quality, visual appeal and adopting best practices. This is time taking but most important in the cycle, businesses are save and understand their requirements a team of consultants help translate this into a high quality app.
Expansion plans
Sharma informed that the 1st half of 2016 has been interesting and promising for Instappy and venture is focused on increasing its base increased languages support, customer acquisition and adding features to the technology in the coming months.
After the successful launch in US, UK, India, South Africa and the Middle East Instappy is all set to expand its reach in Russia, SEA, and China soon.
“We are optimizing our digital strategy and focusing on a strong content marketing approach, with expanding teams and optimizing our sales process. We will also work at expanding our re-seller program and partnerships,” concluded Sharma.
